I nearly cancelled my pre-order for this book because I wasn’t following my diet as much, but I’m glad I didn’t! I received it and there are so many great ideas for how to use the 2 ingredient dough base. I am not creative enough with cooking to be able to come up with all these ideas. I cannot wait to do some of the breakfast ones with eggs! I made bagel balls and altered mine a little bit from the one in the book. There’s obviously a learning curve for stuffing them. ;)In response to an earlier review, they’re “lower carbâ€as compared to other breads. Many of the people who use this dough are on the Weight Watchers plan. This dough gives you a satisfying bread that doesn’t have high calories. My kids and I really prefer the pizza we have made using 2 ingredient dough. You don’t sacrifice flavor! I think this is a book that will be getting lots of use!
This book, the 2- Ingredient Miracle Dough Cookbook, is another in a long list of my favorite cookbooks that I go to again and again. The basic recipe is self-rising flour and Greek yogurt - that's all. With that you can make doughnuts, fritters, sandwich bread, bagels and more. Then you can add all sorts of other ingredients to make your baked goods even more flavorful. If you don't have self-rising flour on hand, all you need is salt, baking powder, and baking soda - the recipe for this blend is on page 2. I made about 12 of these recipes, several with the help of grandchildren, and they were all fun and delicious to make. I also made all of my recipes Gluten Free and vegan, and they all still worked. What I did notice was that with my changes, I needed a little more yogurt at times, or a little more flour at times, to get the dough to work right - or it just could have been me. Also, the recipes are for small batches, and I double several of them, and it still worked just fine. I am not at all a bread maker with the yeast etc, so this was really fun to make these breads and everyone - EVERYONE - loved them. So I thoroughly recommend this book, but be warned, you will gain weight easily if you are not careful!
I don’t think some of those earlier reviewers actually bought this cookbook. It’s awesome! Beautiful photos and great recipes for anyone wanting to try a new and healthier approach to bread. I have already tried theee recipes and they have all come out beautifully. My family has loved my new baking craze with this cookbook. It’s been my best cookbook purchase in years.
I have been baking for many years and am so happy to have found a cookbook that has created recipes to make rolls, flatbreads, pizza dough, bagels, pretzels and desserts that are healthy and delicious! My favorite is the New York Crumb Cake recipe. It was a huge hit with family! The recipes are easy to follow and each have a beautiful full page color photo which is always so helpful. I also love the little captions at the head of each recipe. They were each sweet, full of insights about the author and had thoughtful ideas. This has been such a wonderful addition to my cookbook library! Buy this cookbook! You will love it!Also, I do not think the earlier reviews that had issues are authentic or they did not read the instructions. These recipes could not be more simple to make!
These recipes are great. My first recipe was the hamburger buns. I’m a working mom with 4 children at home and it is usually a bit of chaos here especially during that crazy “pre dinner†hour. I started the recipe but had to take a call so my 12 year daughter finished it for me. I wondered if the rolls would actually turnout. They did turn out, and they were fantastic.... So light and warm and delicious. The recipe was quick and easy. My children were begging to eat the hamburgers buns plain. Great recipes with very little effort.
This is a delightful cookbook full of creative 2 ingredient dough recipes. Each recipe is introduced with a bit of history or an amusing anecdote. The directions are easily understood and every recipe is accompanied by a pretty pictureshowing what to expect and leaving no mystery as to how the recipe should turnout. A few of my favorite savory recipes are the Parmesan Garlic Knots, 3 Cheese Empanadas, and the Golden Potato and Rosemary Pizza. As for the sweeter recipes, I especially enjoyed the Italian Donuts, the Cini-Mini-Churros and the adorable Peach Beehives with Honey Butter.I had no idea there were so many wonderful things to make with Greek yogurt and self rising flour. This cookbook has been a wonderful addition to my collection and has added many more recipes to my baking repertoire.
I love this cookbook!!! I made my first pizza last night and it came out perfect!!!! I’m so excited to try out all the yummy other recipes!! This is genius!!!! I’m doing WW and looking for lower calorie options!!
