I keep children's books around the house for when we have young visitors, and I consider them to be the best critics of my book collection.The first time I shared this book with a 6-year-old visitor, she hugged the book to her chest when she had finished reading it to me, and asked,"Whose book is this?""Yours," I said.I am now on my third copy.
The students LOVED this book! The interactive element of shaking the characters out made them laugh out loud and the last page's illustration of the dog being half upside-down and half right-side up led to extended conversations of what might happen in a sequel. Definitely one for your elementary libraries!
Cute story! I'm a school librarian and I've read this to 3-7 year olds and they all enjoy it. It's a great way to introduce little kids to parts of the book as all the characters "disappear" into the spine and then reappear after following the instructions to turn the book and shake.
This was a quick read but my daughter’s kindergarten class loved it when I read it as mystery guest reader.
Such a funny Book for our class. We used it as a dialogical reading book and the kids adored it and wanted to buy it themselves!
I got this book for my niece for Christmas. She loves it and we LOVE reading it to her. It is so funny. As the reader, you get to shake the book and help out the characters. If you're interested, definitely worth checking out!
