My son is Veterinary school and this atlas is superb in reinforcing his study of anatomy of the small animals.Easy to read, great illustrations.

Diagrams, information, and everything you need for your veterinary studies. It's a book that will be an anchor for your library of many vet books!

This anatomy text is the gold standard for students and professionals alike. Wonderful pictures, clear descriptions. I am sending for the rest in the series.

This was the single most helpful book for anatomy class at vet school. I highly recommend it for anyone going to vet school.

Fantastic!!! Love this book.

I bought this as a backup book to Millers for my years in Vet Med at UCD. This book has become a favorite as the the pictures are very, very good when it comes to anatomy texts (and I've got 5 of those, so I think my opinion is valid). Just like any anatomy text, there are a few things here and there that a course may ask you to know and it's not in there but overall it had most everything and was very useful. Oh, and it is much thinner and lighter than Millers for lugging back and forth from school to home. Also the appendices are FABULOUS, they cover many extra topics, from detailed radiology info to a huge section on clinical and functional anatomy where it list parts and says a few important clinical things about it. I wouldn't recommended it as a replacement for Millers but as a secondary addition to it.

He has more than 50 publications in journals and books, 30 patents granted or pending, and numerous invited presentations. He is routinely invited to lecture at professional organizations and universities. Dr. Qiu received BS in Pharmacy, MS. in Pharmaceutics from China Pharmaceutical University, and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from The University of Iowa.Dr. Yisheng Chen currently serves as Vice President of Product Development at Novast Laboratories, Ltd, leading the development of pharmaceutical products for global markets. Dr. Chen earned his Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutics in 1994 from the University of Iowa. He then joined Burroughs Wellcome as a development scientist, and later Abbott Laboratories with increasing responsibilities where he was elected as an Associate Research Fellow, Volwiler Society. Dr. Chen also served as an expert member of both the Product Quality Research Institute (PQRI) and the USP Performance Testing Expert Panel, and as an adjunct professor at the Guangdong Pharmaceutical University. Dr. Chen has in-depth knowledge and extensive experience in various aspects of developing solid pharmaceutical products, ranging from formulation and process development, CMC documentation for regulatory filing, scale-up, and validation for commercialization. His expertise includes the quality by design (QbD) development of modified release (MR) products using traditional delivery technologies, and development of new delivery systems for MR products. Dr. Chen has extensive experience in the development and scale-up of beads coating process using Wurster coating technology for different types of products from lab to commercial scales. He has successfully led the development and secured the approval of more than 30 products approved in the US, EU, Japan and China, including new drug applications (NDAs) and high barrier branded abbreviated new drug applications (ANDAs). Dr. Chen also has the expertise in packaging protection of drug products. He developed a theoretical model for predicting moisture uptake by packaged products during storage. His theory provided the fundamental basis for the development of ASTM D7709 and the revision of USP general chapter on the standard methods for measuring the water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) of containers, as well as the scientific criteria of using MVTR/unit product to evaluate the performance of containers for product protection. Dr. Chen has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and patents. He is a co-editor of “Developing Solid Oral Dosage Forms: Pharmaceutical Theory and Practice”. Dr. Chen is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences, and at major universities.Dr. Geoff G. Z. Zhang is a Senior Research Follow at AbbVie Inc., an adjunct professor of the Department of Industrial and Physical Pharmacy at Purdue University, and a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. He received his B.Sc. in Physical Chemistry from Fudan University, China, and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of Minnesota, USA. He has contributed broadly to Physical Pharmacy, specifically in the areas of crystal engineering, polymorphism, characterization and crystallization of amorphous solids and amorphous solid dispersions, as well as delivery of poorly water soluble compounds. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, and book chapters, given over 170 podium and poster presentations. During his 18-year tenure with Abbott/AbbVie, he has more than 120 granted patents and patent applications. He interacts and collaborates extensively with academic institutes and has mentored 40 graduate students on their thesis and summer research projects. He has received 2012 AAPS Pharmaceutical Research Meritorious Manuscript Award, and serves on the United State Pharmacopeia Physical Analysis Expert Committee.Lawrence X. Yu, Ph.D., is the Deputy Director, Office of Pharmaceutical Quality, Food and Drug Administration, where he oversees new, generic, and biotechnology product quality review and inspection functions as well as the FDA CDER quality labs. He is also adjunct Professor of Pharmaceutical Engineering at the University of Michigan. Prior to joining the FDA, Dr. Yu had worked at Pfizer (Upjohn) and GlaxoWellcome for 8 years. Dr. Yu joined the FDA in 1999 and has served as Team Leader, Deputy Division Director, Division Director, Deputy Office Director, and Office Director. Dr. Yu’s research interests have centered on the prediction of oral drug delivery and the development of pharmaceutical Quality by Design. His compartmental absorption and transit (CAT) model has laid the foundation for the commercial software, GastroPLUSTM and Simcyp®, which are being widely used in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Yu is a fellow and the past section Chair of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and an Associate Editor of the AAPS Journal. Dr. Yu has authored/co-authored over 140 papers, and presented over 100 abstracts, and given over 200 invited presentations. He is a co-editor of the books entitled “Biopharmaceutics Applications in Drug Development , “FDA Bioequivalence Standards , and “Developing Solid Oral Dosage Forms: Pharmaceutical Theory and Practice, 2nd Ed. Dr. Yu is the winner of numerous awards including AAiPS distinguished Scientist Award, AAPS Regulatory Science Achievement award, AIChE PD2M Drug Product QbD Achievement Award, Japan Naigai Foundation Distinguished Lectureship, China Beijing University IPEM graduation commencement address, Department of Health and Human Service Outstanding Leadership Award, FDA Commissioner’s Special Citation, Outstanding Achievement, Group Recognition, and Team Excellence awards.Dr. Rao V. Mantri is currently working as Executive Director in Drug Product Science & Technology at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company. I really loved this idea. I got for my husband for Valentine's day. It was actually last minute so I had to take it the way it was.And it came with multiple pages of very noticable black print smudges... Sometimes even over the words! You might think it is a printing issue until you see actual finger prints in the smudged ink... Kinda weird and off-putting. The covers seemed to be untouched. If I had to guess I'd say there were at least 15 pages that had marks scattered throughout the book.I actually told my husband that MY pen leaked and I didn't notice until afterwards. Cause how weird would that be? Oh sorry about the smudges and strange finger prints. It arrived like this but I had no time to exchange it because I bought it at the last minute. Sorry babe! ...Yeah no.Other than that I enjoyed filling out the book. I'm a mommy so it took me two days to get it done, but if I had just focused on it it probably would've taken a few hours. It depends on how funny or serious or thoughtful you want to make it. I went serious with a sprinkle of funny.I also had to REALLY think about a few of the questions. So if you get stuck don't try to figure it out right there, do something else and come back to it. It'll come to you. It's also very important to read every question before writing anything. Some of the questions are similar. I crossed out a few words in questions that didn't apply or make sense to me.It was nice to make because we get stuck in the motion of everyday life that we forget these kinda things. It gave me a little kick start in remembering why we built this life together. My husband enjoyed it a lot more than I thought he would. I was more surprised with the questions he asked me like how long did it take you to finish this? He keeps it out in the open still which is more than I can say for the mini stuffed animal that I gave with it. Had I known it would have all the smudges and finger prints I wouldn't have purchased. It's a really cute idea but I could've made something similar.

I absolutely love this little book! Yes it is small, about 3.5" x 4.5" but it's perfect. I purchased this as a Valentine's Day present for my fiance. I typed out all the prompts in a word document so I could remember what I had written and try to keep each one different. I didn't want to repeat myself and go back through the pages scratching things out. I highly recommend doing it that way!Here are a list of the prompts. It's a very thoughtful, thought provoking book. You'll have to think about the answers and reveal how you really feel about the other person. I knocked a star because of the size; it's a "cute" size and could be a little bigger, however since the questions are 1 sentence and don't take up much room, I'm sure this is why it is the size that it is.TIP: Get 2 books. Make one "G" rated that you can have out and the other "R" rated that you put away.For example this real question in the book: "I love when you _______ my ______" Nooow, that question can go either way.....

Don't get this unless you really love someone.It's really cute actually but it's only cute if you have cute stuff to put in it. The part of these that makes them cute is things like "I love our ____" and a ridiculous blank. Saying things like "date nights" will get repetitive after a while. Instead say something personal like "house-hunter marathons" or "shared dates with stomach flu". Something stupid is so much cuter than the typical stuff.

Really fun book. I liked the white space so i was able to draw around some of my answers as well as add stickers. I was surprised how small it was but worth the price. Not for new couples as some of these questions are a bit challenging unless you have known the person a long time. Great gift! Dont listen to the negative reviews!

This is a very nice product! It's fun to fill out, only took me an hour or two, and it's a great gift for your significant other! It's tiny, about the size of my hand, but a good product nonetheless. I recommend this!

Very cute book for the little boy or girl who loves ballet. My daughter is 2 1/2 and just starting ballet class, but this book would be appropriate for any child in preschool or early elementary school. I love the photographs and descriptions of the real ballet terminology.

I bought this after my 3 year old's first ballet lesson and she just loves this book. We read it every night, although I just give her the gist of the story instead of reading all the words because she likes to talk about what she sees and ask questions on each page, too. She likes to point out each girl that has a pink or blue leotard just like hers, and find which one is Ursala on every page, etc. I think it has helped her understand what her teacher is asking them to do, as well. I can help her position her arms and legs like the girls in the picture until she can do it by herself, whereas the teacher doesn't really walk around and do that in her class. The girls' tutu's on the cover and back of the book are textured, she likes to touch them, and it helps her understand the recital outfits are special.

I bought this for my daughter's fourth birthday which happened to be of the ballerina theme. I like the book because the pictures are real photographed pictures, and it holds the child's interest in seeing a peer talk about her experiences going to and coming from ballet class, preparing for a recital, etc. It also introduces the child to some basic ballet steps through the art of photography. This is a nice addition to anyone wanting some books about ballet for their child. For the younger audience (ages 2-4)I Wear My Tutu Everywhere! (Reading Railroad Books)is also a great find!

I gave this to my 3-1/2 year old granddaughter as a gift, along with a ballerina doll, for her first ballet recital. She loves it. The pictures inside are real photos, not drawings. I would recommend this book for any young ballerina in the making.

My 3 yo loves this little book. Cute pictures of ballerinas and some ballet terms. It's a thin paperback and probably won't last long, but the price was commensurate with the sturdiness. Personally, I would have paid a little more to get a board book version!

The book is short and expensive, but perfect for a quick nighttime book in a hurry. My daughter loves this book though because of the pictures with the story along with it . It's all about what she thinks. I would say a 2 for price and quality she would say 5 for pictures and book . Definitely a must have for little beginner ballerinas !

I pretty much own every other "survival" guidebook that is available on amazon, and I just happen to be really into Navy SEAL stuff, so naturally I ordered this book. I pretty much judge survival books against the "SAS Survival Handbook," which in my opinion is the "best." I have a pretty good grasp on survival techniques and a lot of what accompanies it, first aid, preparing ahead of time, navigation, etc, so I pretty much know what I'm talking about and looking at.I think the other reviewer was wanting "strategies" like battle strategies or something or a bunch of Navy SEAL secrets. I was not expecting those things or wanting them. I was looking for a few new ideas for a survival objective. This book is not just good in covering ALL aspects of survival, it's GREAT! It's really 'text book' in my opinion, which is to be expected as it's based on military techniques. Very through coverage of all sorts of hazards. Very nice size and glossy cover. Great color photographs. I found the authors went very deeply into the *important* aspects of the material, and it was written succincintly and to the point, rather then just broadly covering large topics.Out of all of my survival manuals, this one is EASILY top shelf material. Great book. Worth checking out and adding to your collection. The Navy SEAL aspect makes it fun and trustworthy, but if you're looking for Navy SEAL strategies on war, buy the Navy SEALS video from discovery channel for nine bucks. This is a survival manual by a guy who just happened to be a Navy SEAL, and regardless of the source, it is a complete 'text book' offering of the survival tools YOU need to know.Overall, I think most people who are into this sorta thing will NOT be dissapointed in this at ALL. Worth buying. I recommend.

I have taught SERE for the past 13 years to all four branches of the military, as well as going to survival courses all over the world, and practicing these skills. I have worked with many SEALs and SF guys over the years and have the utmost respect for them, what they do for our country, and how professional they are. I first heard about this book about 6 months before it came out and was excited to finally read it. I was disappointed to find it full of misspellings, information that is not current, and other errors. Just one example: List of the world's 10 largest deserts by size (only 9 are listed). The one thing that I do like about this book is that every chapter contains stories that are real world survival examples. Still, it appears Don Mann wants to sell his book solely on his reputation as a SEAL and not the comprehensiveness and quality of the information in it. The people associated with this book (Don Mann, Tony Nester, and others) have tons of outdoor experience in virtually every environment on earth, it is too bad they did not share more of it with us. I am just very disappointed in a book that had the potential to be one of the best survival books written.

No chance I would ever survive Hell Week in B.U.D.S, but with this book I am little more confident I could survive in almost any environment with a few of the right tools. This is a good "Cliff Notes" version of surviving in the different environments on the planet that don't include a Starbucks or a Burger King. From obtaining water to keeping warm to identifying edible nutrition and building suitable rent free housing, this is a one stop shopping guide to putting off your trip to the Pearly Gates if you happen to wind up in a phone dead zone.

Great book with lots of useful information, interesting stories and quite a few pictures. The only shortcoming I can really think of is that there are several places in the book where detailed instructions are given for building of shelters, traps, etc. with no accompanying picture or sketch to make it understandable. Other than that, I would have given it 5 stars.

I have been interested most of my life in anything to do with special forces training techniques and tactics, whether it is fitness programs, combatives, firearms and survival methods. This book focuses on the training of the U.S. Navy SEALS in the techniques and strategies of these great warriors. This excellent handbook covers an enormous amount of material. The specific details of how to survive in a wide variety of situations are covered in this text. Even though I have numerous books on the U.S. Navy SEALS I learned things in this book that I had never seen in other similiar books.This handbook is organized into fifteen detailed chapters. They include the following: (1) SEAL/SERE training, which is one of my favorite chapters. (2) The elements of survival, which was my favorite chapter. (3) Jungle survival. (4) Mountain and artic survival. (5) Desert survival. (6) Survival at sea. (7) Basic survival tips.(8) Water. (9) Shelter and fire. (10) Food and hunting. (11) Weather. (12) Navigation. (13) Survival medicine.(14) Survival kits. (15) The mystery of survival, which was a very interesting chapter on how people were able to survive incredible dangerous life threating situations.In conclusion, if you are seeking information on how the U.S. Navy SEALS learn how to survive all types of unusual and dangerous situations, this book is for you. One word of advice, however, reading this book alone without going through the actual training program will be of little use, but combined with training with an instructor this book will be a valuable tool.Rating: Joseph J. I always felt that the science and the invention that is brought to us today always existed in some form or other in ancient cultures. This book is an excellent treasure of information on Indian culture, society, science, technology, spirituality and the way of living. Presentation of the material makes the flow of the reading effortless. It gives the pleasure of reading a science fiction at the outset, and the pleasure of the philosophical pondering subsequently. The discoveries credited to the Indian mind in the different spheres of knowledge have meticulous narrations in this work piece. The growth of the different schools of thoughts with time, and their relevance in creating a progressive society has been well articulated. The book weaves the various dimensions of the Indian society with the unified theme of ever-shining Indian culture. The book makes itself a good reading for a variety of readers, at different quantum levels of thinking and analysis.

I was attracted to this book by its promise to relate ancient Indian history and literature to truths established by the modern science. The book delivered on its promise and then some. What our sages thought and wrote about the cycle of destruction and construction has pretty much been validated by modern geology. This in itself is not as surprising as the fact that the time period of these cycles match so closely to what was foretold thousands of years ago in Indian literature.

This book gives you clear and concise definitions of Sanskrit and Hindi terminology and also highlights the scientific and mathematical advancement of ancient India.

This book chronicles various scientific, astronomical and medicinal advancements that has come out of the Indian subcontinent. It does a good job of introducing the reader to the ancient knowledge, in a concise and succinct manner. It is almost like establishing signposts for the reader to guide their own pursuit of this knowledge and discover for themselves the depth of ancient wisdom. This book is a quick read and can be a jump of point for further exploration of the topic.

A very nice intro to the origins, culture and context of 'bharat varsh'. It definitely increases the desire to read and learn more. It also gives a satisfactory proof of the advanced mathematics and scientific achievements and wholistic life and governance that the society offered at that time.
