Many people who have a lot of ego/pride and lacking in humility will miss out on this rare gem of sacred knowledge to advance themselves spiritually. People really need Gnosis no matter what religion or none religion they adhere to. I know from experience that Gnosis is the real path and the real true teachings and knowledge that this humanity is sorely missing, especially all these different sects of religions today that have deviated from the truth of God's Word and Law. Samael Aun Weor and the Gnostic teachings are the only real honesty that I have ever encountered of the sickness of our world. He gives it straight out with no pun intended. I can feel that it's done out of real sincere love so we don't continue to hurt ourselves living in the darkness of ignorance. Do yourself a favor and get this book and all his other books! I have a lot of his books and plan on purchasing more of them or owning them all!

This is not a work of literary interpretation or exegesis, therefore the author does not always justify his exposition of the text with historical or literary evidence. He claims that the message of the book of Revelation must be understood by spiritually investigating the original sources of the work via meditation and that he, the author, has done just that. Therefore some readers may reject his interpretation on the grounds of insufficient supporting evidence. Readers curious to hear a spiritually revolutionary viewpoint on the Revelation of St. John are encouraged to buy the book, even if they are not familiar with the author's previous works. However those unfamiliar with the works of Samael Aun Weor will benefit from doing a Google search to find out more information about the author and his work prior to purchasing. Any true student of the Christian Mysteries should take the time to read this book. There are a lot of commentaries and interpretations of the Apocalypse, most of which are based on pure fanaticism rather than spiritual facts. This is not one of those books. The author gives sound and informed understanding that you cannot find anywhere else, as these teachings were not given publicly previously. However, now we have access to the doctrine of Revelations as it was understood by the Initiates of times immemorial and a true practitioner will take the time to meditate upon these lines of legitimate scripture.

I feel like the concepts presented in the book are too fragmented and not explained clearly enough. Some previous understanding of these concepts is assumed by the writer. I had to put it down and stop reading it because it was too hard to understand.

I'm a board-certified Internal Medicine M.D. with a large patient practice in Los Angeles. I downloaded the Kindle edition of financial guru Jean Chatzky's and wellness expert Dr. Michael Roizen's new book "Age-Proof" last evening. It was so chock-full of sage advice that I stayed up into the wee hours reading it all the way through.After 25+ years of medical practice I'm rather skeptical of and not easily impressed by the litany of books offering what I consider to be "fad" advice for healthy living. Most are either inaccurate, hyperbolic, based on junk-science or just plain boring. "Age-Proof", in my professional opinion, is a singular exception. My initial (inarticulate) gut reactions as I read Jean and Dr. Mike's expert health and wealth advice were "Wow." "Terrific." "Finally." "It's about time."In a nutshell, "Age-Proof" offers clear, simple, actionable, scientifically legitimate advice about staying healthy and financially solvent as the decades pile up. And the key messages are delivered in a caring, funny and non-threatening format for the oft-scary interconnected topics of health and wealth. As a doc striving daily to impart both healthy living and practical life advice to my aging patient population (i.e. anyone over 40), "Age-Proof" will very likely become a must-read recommendation for my patients.Thanks so much to Jean and Dr. Mike for sharing your wisdom and mentoring with the world.

(You won't be willing to do all the stuff listed in either book - neither am I - but this book is still more readable and I think a bit better plan. For the financial side of the equation, go instead to the most recent update of Andrew Tobias' "The Only Investment Guide You'll Ever Need".

Like a bowl of bad guacamole, I knew very quickly I had made a terrible mistake buying this book. After each chapter I desperately hoped the book would get better. It did not. This is an amateur attempt at literature so poorly written that I spent the first two chapters thinking I had accidentally purchased a bootleg version. The book is filled with anecdotal details so worthless I can only think the author didn't have enough to write about. His attempt to validate his life as a "spy" is basic and laughable - comparable to themes and examples dreamed up by an undeveloped adolescent. This is without a doubt the worst book I have ever read.

I lived in Dubai for 3 years and know that you don’t want to get caught in its justice system.But this guy has an ax to grind from page one all the way to the end. No objectivity and a lot of spite and bitterness. Plus he repeats himself frequently. Very poorly written.

After seeing special TV programs regarding all the many accomplishments in Dubai, this book brings out the real madness in yet another middle eastern country. I never would have imagined the amount of corruption, dishonesty, double standards, lies, discrimination, and illegal practices. It was an eye opener for sure, and makes me wonder how they are able to get away with their deceptions and draw in so much foreign investment. It definitely needs to be added to the list of countries to not visit. Insane leaders seem to be a common denominator in the middle east. Must be from too many years wandering around in the sandbox. I thoroughly liked the story line and the insight of Herve as he outsmarts the Locals at their own game. He not only defeated every attempt by them to prove him guilty, but he managed to outsmart and outwit them in his plans to escape the country. It really showed that his training in the secret service did prepare him to deal with this dangerous situation. I was trying to place myself in his shoes and there is just no way that the average expat over there would be able to pull it off like Herve did. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a real life thriller story!

What a fun book. Heard the snippet of his interview on XNPR and was intrigued. Bought the book and it's a great adventure with lots of insights into this over hyped country. Should be mandatory reading for anyone wanting to travel there.

It is an amazingly eye-opening trek of how this skillful, well trained French engineer who is recruited by the a sultan, the chairman of Dubai World to create a large manufacturing company primarily focused on the building of submarine and marine watercraft. The French engineer, a former French elite Secret Operative, becomes ensnared in a trap of government coercion and extortion. The author conveys that once you become an employee in Dubai just about everything you do is controlled by the Dubai government, even to the point your passport is confiscated and to finally leave the country he must put to use his training and experience he gleaned while he was a French Secret Operative. The details of the censorship, fraud, coercion and corruption he conveys in Dubai casts long dark shadows on that government demonstrating that their public persona appears to be orchestrated different than what is more factual. There are small parts of the book that I was bored with - the technical aspects of his job. But because the author is an engineer it is not uncharacteristic of an engineer to be more detailed. Even with these points and sections of the book, I did not want to stop reading it and follow his scary trek through to escape. It is definitely an eye-opener while being entertaining.

Just finished reading this on the back of a similar account of terror in Dubai, "Trapped: a couples journey to hell and back in Dubai". As a 15-year foreign (American) resident of the UAE and Dubai I feel overall positive about this book and what it relates, while taking some notable exceptions. On the "positive" side, what he writes about the arbitrary and frightening legal justice system in Dubai rings true. It seems to me to be by far the greatest fault of this nation (the UAE as a whole) that one really cannot expect to be treated fairly should one fall into the throes of the justice system. It is a fear that probably lurks in the back of the minds of most, if not all, foreign residents. Both "Trapped" and "Escape from Dubai" well illustrate the scary truth. But, the caveat is that this notion, for the vast majority of residents, resides in the back of one's mind, while for the most part one can go on happily partaking in the good that life in Dubai has to offer. For most people--as awful as the risk of falling askance of the law is--it represents an acceptable level of risk. The "it would never happen to me" sense is the predominant one when it comes to day-to-day living in Dubai. And the reason this risk is acceptable is that life in Dubai is fascinating, the opportunities to better oneself and prosper here are real--IMHO. On the "negative" side, I do think Mr.Jaubert paints the society, its native citizens and its leadership with too broad a dark, malicious brush. He simply presents an over-generalization of their shortcomings. Sure, there are shortcomings which can destroy dreams and lives, but every place on this planet, every society and every government has its shortcomings, and I am not sure that Dubai's are so much worse than so many other places. On balance, they have and continue to do a lot of good and admirable things here. They have created something out of nothing which despite its shortcomings, still impresses.

I found myself more disappointed in this book the more I read. It turned out to be mainly the author’s vent on ecclesiastical issues he finds disturbing, although he does make some valid points. At times, it read more like a stilted thesis, lacking flow and readability, and at times, it used a sarcastic tone. There were many misused commas also. I think the book is useful to give the reader ideas to consider and ponder, but not to build faith, encourage, or inspire. I didn’t find much I could take away and keep.

I came across Douglas Wilson several years ago. He says what needs to be said. In my view, he is graciously firm and not lacking in thoughtfulness. There is a sense of urgency in getting out the message that our worship pf God should not be casual and there is also a sense that God has mercy on us as we plod through this with minds and hearts that do desire to obey. I both enjoyed reading it and trembled before God at how great a matter worship is.

For anyone that doesnt know why you do the things you do on Sunday you need to read this. Doug hits on several weak points in the modern church. This is a great book for anyone in leadership to find greater meaning in what we are doing on the Lords Day.

I don't agree with Doug's understanding on the covenant but overall very needed little book. Chapters on Thundering the Word and the Lord's Supper are very good.

This book is edifying in so many ways and it inspires with warmth and wit. I recommend this to anyone wishing to see Christ's Bride flourish in this generation to a thousand generations.

Doug Wilson always has good thought provoking books. This one is not disappointing.

Yes it’s an excellent book but I have a hard time giving it five stars like the other readers. The title is pretty misleading and he mentions the high church Puritan in the subtitle but it’s only one chapter in a very small book. Almost thin enough to be a booklet. Really it is asking for covenant renewal as a response to individualism. Proper worship does not seem to be the driving force but a backdrop. That being said for what he does talk about he has good points.

Love the product. Arrived right on time.
