Bought this, and two leopard geckos for my sister for Christmas. I work in a pet store, so I know quite a lot about them. This book is great for beginners and provides all the information you need to get started. Would definitely recommend!

it's very helpful but i don't recommend sand for substrate trust me just look up leopard gecko talk on youtube she helped me alot

I found this to be extremely informative. The other did a great job of going into details to make sure this is something that you can handle. I recommend reading this if you are a first time gecko owner (definitely read before you actually purchase the gecko)

Good book for beginners.

When you read this it's like your talking to someone who got all of their information off the internet. A bunch of things this book says are informal and untrue. I am a breeder and I was shocked at all the B.S. this author had to offer. It was made out of scrap to scrape some money from unsuspecting prey. The writing itself is very poor and while reading this, you feel like you are talking to a pet store associate who knows very little about the creatures and can tell you the absolute basics then make up the rest in a manner that seems fit.Don't waste your money on this, it's a compilation of internet sources and random (not expert) information.

Good information, very easy to understand. Knowledgeable and helpful.

The book flows extremely well and is never confusing when it goes back and forth.The granddaughter, Emma is reading her grandmother, Amelia' s diary trying to help her find Charlie. Amelia is having heart problems and being old she seems to have unfinished business that she wants to take care.We learn that Amelia was brought up in a loving family with her Father, Mother and brother. Her world was turned upside down when she was seventeen when Nazi soldiers forced them into a concentration camp. Amelia is separated from everyone and now she has to be strong, alone, in order to survive. On the inside she meets a Nazi soldier named Charlie who befriends her. He brings her extra food and makes sure she is strong enough to make it. Eventually, love blossoms between the two which is not okay. Will love be enough to make it through this horrible time?While we learn of the tragic events that happen to Amelia we also get to see a blooming love between Emma and Jackson Beck, Emelia' s cardiologist. This side of the story is more fun and flirty especially when Amelia gets involved. Last Words is a stunning tribute to the survivors, many books have been published about this dark, horrific time but Shari writes this book from the depths of her soul. Last Words is told from Amelia and Emma's POV one anchored in the past telling a story that no one had a full understanding of and another POV from the granddaughter receiving her grandmother's story in modern times but needing the lessons her grandmother needed to pass on to someone in her life now.I was legit blubbering within the first two chapters, it begins such a beautifully told story. Shari's prose is just gorgeously put together, it's descriptive even during the rough parts, the times when you don't want to think about the cruelty that people are capable of but you know happened, but in those moments that deserve to have the beauty highlighted it's just done so well.The story gradually unfolds piece, by piece one small story at a time and it's like a origami crane some things may seem just like a singular memory but in the whole picture of the story everything has a purpose. This story is one I really believe you don't need to read a cliff's Notes review where I am going to tell you moment by moment what this story is, I believe it's one that if you love Indie Authors you need to read and experience because it is so important! It was a story that needed to be told right now and by this author because I don't think anyone else would have conjured a story quite like this one.

This book was something a little different than what I have been used to with Shari Ryan's books and I will admit I was a little hesitant to read it, not knowing what to expect and if it would be something I would enjoy. Having said that, I know that I will never do the review of this book justice. This book was something truly special, starting from the moment I picked it up. I knew early on that this book would be powerful, profound, and probably cause some tears to fall (and in this I was definitely not mistaken).There is immense beauty throughout this book that tells a story within a story. The circumstances surrouding Amelia's life and struggles are completely devastating and horrific, and within all of that, her heart survived, and she found everlasting love. Amelia's strength is commendable and inspirational. Despite the horrific historical events that are discussed throughout this book, two people were able to not only survive, but rise above. Despite the lack of humanity at the time, they were both selfless, wanting to protect others.I loved the way this story was told and how the information was brought to light throughout the book. Shari Ryan has seriously outdone herself with Last Words. It was beautiful watching Emma discover her grandmother's secret, while at the same time finding herself in a situation that would now allow her some of the love she so clearly needed and deserved. The relationship between Emma and her grandmother was something I don't think you see a lot of nowadays.Love can be challenging and trying and messy, but it is also beautiful and powerful and healing. This book is a true reminder that if you are lucky enough to be someone who finds a love so deep that it makes you whole, that you should never ever let go. Last Words is a brilliant, 5++++ star read!

I'm going to hazard a guess that when Popoff finished "Rush: the Illustrated History", he had a lot of stuff left over.....enough for almost another entire book. Because that's how this effort reads.Visually, it's a stunning book, filled with rare photos, memorabilia, etc. But the approach to writing is another matter entirely. The format is that Popoff interviews people on each individual Rush album (although the live records at omitted for some reason). And it starts OK, with people the average Rush fan would recognize -- Kirk Hammet, Mike Portnoy, Paul Gilbert. And every time Ian Grandy open his mouth, a new gem falls out. But these guys get precious little space in the book, and it's all mostly done by the halfway point. The rest -- about 75% of the book -- is comprised of interviews with average Rush fans, who's common thread appears to be their involvement with RushCON. Do I really care about what the bass player form a Rush tribute band think about "Snakes and Arrows"? Not really. And some of these guys are recognizable as "fans" who got booted from Rush internet message boards over the years for their treatment of other fans. Really?In the end, the "analysis" provided here is mostly superficial and predictable (e.g. old Rush=good; new Rush=bad). Aside from another quick glace-through for the pictures, I can't imagine ever reading this books again. If I want analysis from an average fan, I can go to any number of Rush forums and get that for free.

The photographs are nice and some of the descriptive information about the tours and studio sessions is interesting but reading this book is like reading a book that many RUSH fans might be able to write. There is a lot of opinion expressed, but you already have an opinion, as a RUSH fan. The book was inexpensive so worth having if you like to collect books, but if you want in depth biographical information about the band and you are a fan you are unlikely to learn anything new about RUSH from this volume. Stick with listening to RUSH or opt over to some of the engaging books written by Neil Peart.

Got my copy today! A breezy easy but very enjoyable read of all of their albums. I truly love this band and is obvious Popoff does too.. It's a nice layout of all their albums discussed by twenty muscians who give a brief but solid review of every album. There are some pictures in here I haven't seen before and many that I have but are nicely laid out and compliment each album. It's a nice yearbook style cover and will last a long time. This is a nice upgrade from Contents Under Pressure. If you love Rush like I do this is a mostly known but equally revealing book! Worth it!

Well done and by far Popoff"s best Rush book yet. Great insight by musicians, historians, and others connected to the history of the band. Great unseen photos and in depth respect to albums that often don't get the attention they deserve.Worth the $20.

"Rush: Album by Album" is a great read for any true Rush fan. I really enjoyed the insights from so many different people whom I respect. It's interesting reading opinions (some that mirror mine, others that stand in contrast) and learning some of the little-known backstories about each album. I have the entire Rush catalog and this has inspired me to go back and re-visit some of the music that I haven't listened to in awhile, i.e., the synth-heavy albums from the 80's. Rush has been my favorite band since I first discovered them (when "Hemispheres" was released) and I've always been able to count on them to challenge and inspire me.

Very well done book on a great band. Beautifully laid out, it takes you through the band’s career album by album with interviews of Rush fans and historians. I have read several books on Rush and this book supplements and complements those by filling in all the gaps. It’s nice to hear from the famous fans of the band what they liked about each albu. A completely enjoyable read.

As a lifelong Rush fan, I found this book fascinating. I love the music but have never focused too much on the lyrics.This book delved pretty deeply into the lyrics. I enjoyed that perspective. The book is full of great pictures and analysis. I would read a chapter about a particular album and then listen to several songs from that album. It was an enjoyable experience to go back in time.

Lots of good info on Rush in this book.Martin is another good writer of rock music books.A++++.

may be an old book, but I built 2 of the projects, and they worked first time.hard to find old parts, but you can still do it.made my own PCB's and couldn't be more satisfied.

The book was not what I was looking for. I was looking for a book to help me design and duild a simple low power transmitter. The book had a realy good section on Oscillators circuets and what type of oscillator works best for what type of application. Other then that, the rest of the book was pre-cand Low Power Tranmitters circuet designs, to build. Don't take this as bad. It just did not work for me. The transmitter circuet designs look good, just did not fit my aplication.The book was well ritten and easy to read.If you are looking to design and build a simple low power AM transmitter, I have found "Basic Radio: Understanding the Key Building Blocks" is a good place to start.

This is a very disappointing book. The preface promises "All projects use standard parts and have been thoroughly tested, with PC board layouts given for most the projects, as well as parts lists, coil data, and complete setup information." However, the only time it delivers all this information is when the transmitter in question is a kit from a certain vendor in New York State. For everything else, the information supplied is minimal at best.For instance, Chapter 16 (Low-Power Narrowband FM Transmitters) provides a schematic for a ¼ watt amateur 2 meter FM transmitter that completely omits data on all coils, inductors, etc. in the design. There's no parts list, no PC board layout, and minimal description of the circuit. The chapter goes on to describe a UHF transmitter based on an obsolete integrated circuit.Now I can't fault the authors for including a design based on an obsolete chip. The chip was probably in full production when this chapter was written. However, omitting the coil data for the 2 meter transmitter is unacceptable.Chapters describing the various transmitter kits are chock full of information. There's also some interesting chapters on FM stereo generation and serial data remote control. However, on a whole, the book leaves out a lot of detail on the transmitters I bought it for. I would have been better off looking for a suitable ARRL publication.

You will be interested in this book if you:o Want to know how to build low-power AM and FM broadcast transmitters of a professional standard;o Want to know how to build low-power TV transmitters for VHF and UHF;o Want to learn some advanced techniques;o Have experience in radio transmitter construction;o Have experience with surface mount devices (SMD);o Understand schematics;o Know how to etch PCBs from a published layout.This book is not suitable for:o Beginners;o Those with little experience in electronics construction and design.This is the book you have been looking for if you want to build a good quality but low power broadcast transmitter for a community radio station, or an isolated settlement like a cattle station homestead, mining camp or outstation. Initially I thought that it would suit pirate radio operators but even a cursory glance at eBay tells me that these people are well catered for by respectable Chinese businessmen.Like many such books, the first two chapters cover elementary theory but if you find them difficult the rest of the book will be impossible. The first circuits displayed are "wireless microphones" and a phone line bug and some other small beginners circuits, then a simple but well-designed 50mW AM transmitter before introducing an AM transmitter for long wave, medium wave and the extended 1700kHz band based on the MC145151-2 phase locked loop.FM broadcasting circuits start with a simple VFO tuned mono transmitter then after a discussion of multiplexing on to another MC145151-2 based transmitter for stereo transmissions from 76 to 108 MHz, followed by a microprocessor controlled transmitter.Next are presented a low power VHF and two UHF TV transmitters, then a microprocessor based remote control system. There are circuits for 2 metres FM and 40 metres CW with a field strength meter and a sideband generator for 11MHz and a 1750kHz transmitter.Writing is clear and there are many detailed diagrams provided as well as PCB layouts suitable for copying. If carefully constructed these circuits should provide many years of use.

Great book! It is the backbone of transmitting and receiving. If you want to learn how to build or how transmitters and receivers work get this book!! The only thing I don't like is the designs are not that up to date, but you need to know them to build better transmitters / receivers. This is a great book for getting into RF. The best part is you can build everything!!

The projects in this book are very hard to complete. Don't buy it unless you are really familiar with advanced electronics.

Throughout the book, Sutton uses the case study method (used in law schools and business schools) to bring to life the reasons why proper asset protection planning and tax strategies can both maximize your income, minimize your tax liabilities, and protect your investments.In closing, I can't recommend this book more highly for anybody in any way connected with real estate. This should be the first thing you read about real estate investing, and Sutton provides numerous references for more in-depth discussions of certain topics. I recommend purchasing the Audible version and listening to it in the car, doing the dishes, and performing other chores, and then either owning the physical book or Kindle edition as a desktop reference. Rich Dad has once again hit a home run, and has successfully demystified and deconstructed a complex and daunting profession. With "Loopholes of Real Estate", the advantages of real estate investing are now open and accessible to ordinary Americans from every walk of life.Thank you, Mr. Sutton and Mr. Kiyosaki.

I am hooked by the title of "Loopholes" of Real Estate, as I am active in learning tricks for tax saving. So, I go ahead and get a kindle version. After reading the whole book, I realize this book does not offer me any new tricks in saving tax from my real estate portfolio....don't get me wrong, this book does cover quite some tax saving techniques, but I know them already. However, to my surprise, this book has quite some asset protection related subjects. And I do learn quite a bit on this subject from this book....things like:1) What is a land trust? This book helps me to fully understand the purpose, the usage, the pro and con of a land trust.2) Why a California LLC is a weak LLC. Why Nevada LLC, or Wyomin LLC are strong LLCs.3) What are the homestead exemption differences in different states. And how the homestead exemption can protect asset.4) The difference between Grand deed and quit claim deed.5) Use mortgage to discourage lawsuit.6) Use line-of-credit on property to discourage lawsuit.I especially like Garret Sutton's approach in this book by using layman terms to cover subjects that could be hard to understand. Even better yet, quite some examples (or cases) are used to ensure readers fully understand each subject well.I have 10+ rental properties all under my own name. I have been using both personal umbrella and commercial umbrella policies as the shield for asset protection. This book really helps me to have a clear picture how to proceed from here to implement a better asset protection scheme.This book costs me less than 10 dollars. But what I got from it is far more than the book's cost. I highly recommend this book for real estate investors...whether they are looking for tax saving tips or for asset protection recommendations.

Having read Miss Gabriels other 2 books, this one is like the icing on the cake. I followed her from her teen years in Lebanon in her first book "Because They Hate. I saw what she endured in those early years. The next book was "They Must be Stopped took the progression of research along with her real-life experiences to the next level. Her early years she learned English on her own. She saw what the world was like outside her own country that was eventually mostly destroyed. In this book "RISE" she brings it all together and reports that which the mainstream media does not. The average American has no idea the number of attacks they have occurred over the years. This book contains over 680 other sources that are cited throughout the book. I am an amateur researcher/ writer and a conservative and this is what I consider a masterpiece of reporting on a dire situation here in America. I can tell she loves this nation and is trying to warn us of what is transpiring among us. It is a must read in my opinion for any American or future American to be aware of the truth of what is happening in this country.

Amazing as I read this book, I look back on my childhood. Growing up as a Military Brat, I had more of a World View then most Americans.Brigitte from her life growing up in a underground bunker, learning about America. All what she learned and believed is how I grew up moving around from Europe and different States. Lots of Patriotism! Understanding that the United States was different from other Countries.Brigitte's insights are not unique to her. I have heard echoed from many Legally Naturalized Citizen. They all learned what our children are NOT learning in school about our Constitutional Republic.We need to Rise as Brigitte says and reclaim our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Brigitte writes with great clarity as she outlines how we can preserve freedoms for the generations to come. As a young woman she lived in war torn Lebanon, and experienced the destruction of life as she knew it, first hand. This naturalized citizen wants a better life for her children...and when you come right down to it, don’t we all want that for ours?

Like many of you, I have watched the news and wondered out loud “What in the world are these people thinking? The US seems to have gone crazy. From government to everyday life. What is going on?”As a Judeo-Christian conservative, I am writing this short review to recommend that you read Brigitte Gabriel’s new book: RISE. She very clearly has written the problems we are witnessing, and she has distinguished the good guys from the bad guys for the readers.The first time I heard her speak I was impressed with her knowledge of the radical Islamic resistance that is attempting to take over our culture and the authority with which she speaks. I believe she is a gift to our country from God. She loves America and set to help us intelligently fight the radical left and the radical Islamic civilization jihad.The book will hit the shelves tomorrow (Sept. 11, 2018). Every God-fearing, conservative, patriotic American should read it immediately! I cannot emphasize that enough, because the author wrote it at her and her family’s great peril; while giving us the tools to work to solve the problems. After you read it, be sure to join Brigitte’s national organization: ACT.org.Please wake up and rise up America!

I've seen this woman speak on television and watched some of her interviews; she knows FIRST HAND of the real threat to our country and our American way of life that radical Islamic factions pose. This book is definitely worth reading and heeding.... we cannot go through the coming years in this country blind to the threats we face and unprepared for what may happen. In fact, we all need to become educated about the philosophy and ideology behind the thinking of those who would wish to do us harm or eradicate our American heritage. It's really not just the radicals that pose the threat, it's the silent population of those who don't embrace Christianity and Judaism that also are problematic because they will not oppose the forces that may come against us and in fact, they may embrace the enemy without realizing the danger of doing so. Read this book and become aware of the very real danger our country faces and be prepared to defend your faith, your family and your country against this effort to overthrow our laws and our belief systems. It may be a war of attrition that most everyone has no idea has already begun, simply because of immigration and birth rates among the non-Christian populations and cultures inside our country and all across Europe already. The warning is real. The stakes are high. It cannot be ignored and it must be resisted.

Brigitte has surpassed her previous books with this one. It is well written, laid out in a logical manner and what I like best is the number of facts and statistics she shares on key topics regarding the rise of Islam in America. There is the usual self-promotion which is to be expected. Her organization is front and center but that aside, if you are concerned about the direction of America this is a must read.

Brigett Gabriel is a very good writer and she is doing a lot to save the Judeo Christian culture of America. She does a great job of laying our the facts as to what Islam is and what the Islamists are doing around the world. And I support her all the way. The only problem I have is that she basis all her historical "facts" upon the supposition that the media are telling us the truth about 911, the Oklahoma bombing, etc... She needs to delve into the facts that the Muslim Brotherhood, during the Obama years, nearly took over our government. Buy this book and support Act For America. we must stick together and fight this evil plague.

I'm a huge Shakespeare fan and looked forward to this book perhaps shedding some light on some of the murkier aspects of his life. Unfortunately, the "information" provided runs something like: "Elizabethans often wore gloves and, in fact, Shakespeare mentions a glove in Romeo and Juliet: 'O, that I were a glove upon that hand, That I might touch that cheek!'. Given that Will's father also worked with gloves, we can determine that it's very likely that Shakespeare possibly wore gloves at some point in his life."Ugh. After more than a few of Greenblatt's "insightful facts" I had to stop reading. Tedious and frustrating.

I studied Shakespeare as an undergraduate English literature major, taking the two best courses I ever took in college. I think we read close to half of Shakespeare's plays. Over the years I've seen many of his plays performed, always enjoying them. I've moved far away from English literature as a profession, having gone to graduate school in cognitive psychology and ended up now in a school of computer science. But literature is still an interest. Having read Greenblatt's book while on vacation in Hawaii, I've been flooded again with the emotions I've always felt from reading or seeing Shakespeare. While the book has a considerable amount of speculation, I enjoyed that. The documentary record of Shakespeare's life is famously sketchy, so I find intelligent speculation to be warranted. I'm sure his ideas will be reviewed and discussed for years. But he has made, to me at least, Shakespeare an interesting and believable person of his times. I learned a lot about the interesting interconnections in his life, and the possible sources of ideas seen in the plays. I've read many of the less enthusiastic reviews here, but they do not dampen my own enthusiasm for this volume. It is a superb read.

Dr Greenblatt has achieved that very rare success for an author, and particularly for a successful academic, of producing a book that it not only highly informative on an interesting subject, but is also a pure pleasure to read. He is honest in not claiming an excess of knowledge of Shakespeare personally, since there is so very little, but instead presents excellent research into his times, his profession and other significant individuals about whom more is recorded. For one point, I had not realized exactly how much accuracy was contained in Sir Tom Stoppard's Shakespeare in Love, a fictional production if there ever was one. Similarly, the information and commentary on early Reformation England is unusually worthwhile in explaining just how the unique phenomenon of The Bard's work came about. It is very rare that a book including this much information and commentary is so enjoyable to read. I can't recommend it too highly.

Greenblatt has a great idea. There's so little to go on with Shakespeare that biographies have been halting, and even the idea of using biographical information to interpret Shakespeare has been on the edge of taboo. Pick up Bloom's Shakespeare, and you can see the delight at tweaking authority leap off the page when he trots out a chestnut about Marlowe being killed by the Elizabethan CIA. The degree of critical insight through biography and historical context brought Bloom's 800 page book by is dwarfed by a short chapter of WiW.Even better (and this is the true test of an hypothesis), the biographical lodestars brought forth are predictive in works not mentioned. That's sort of a strange claim, but I'm going through it at the moment, so here's the current example - I bet there will be more. One of the main events in the book is WS's relationship with the Earl of Southampton, whom it is affirmed was a patron of WS and the addressee of Venus and Adonis, and some Sonnets (I think that part's affirmed, but the early, non (actually less) sexual ones). ESH was being pushed into a marriage, and he was delaying. WS was supposed to coax him through poetry closer to the marriage, and ended up possibly falling in love with ESH himself. That last bit is more interesting than salient to my point, but nice to have a little scandal. So I'm reading All's Well that Ends Well, and bam! the central action is a courtier that refuses to marry someone the king is commanding him to marry using various delaying tactics, etc. Seems a cartoonish bit of court intrigue in the play, but the real life example is undeniably there in WiW, but unclaimed for AWEW. It's absolutely ridiculous to believe that Shakespeare, unlike all other writers, did not use his life as a primary source for his fiction just because we have so little documentation of it. Greenblatt calls BS on that thought and does everything he can to piece together what's likely and put it on the table.What seems amazing to me is how airtight his suppositions seem. I think that's a combination of knowledge of the time, knowledge of the work, the discretion not to go out too far on a limb, but the courage to make a claim that fits common sense and has explanatory power. If you're considering a Shakespeare dive, I think this is the book you want as a companion. It's a little better if you have some of the plays under your belt, you'll be nodding a lot more. But it's nice to know the man and the time as you're reading at a higher level than the scattered details that critical volumes of the plays will give.
