Previously published as ANATHEMA!!!!!! I have all of Colleen Coble's books, so without reading the full description I missed this statement at the very end of the paragraphs. I checked my books and didn't have this title ( Where Shadows Meet) so ordered it. The cover photo here doesn't show the statement, but when the book came yesterday I noticed at the bottom corner in tiny writing is Previously etc. I still give it 5 stars because the book deserves that, but the publisher only gets 1 star. I don't want to pay to return it, so will pass it on to someone else, what a let down when I was ready to start a new Coble book. If you haven't read Anathema, you will enjoy this book.
I am so disappointed! I have read almost all of Colleen Coble’s books and consider her one of my favorite authors. I purchased this book because it indicated it was published in 2018. I started reading it and discovered it is an old book published under a new title. That’s twice now I have paid for the same book. I purchased this book under the original title of Anathema. I will try to be more cautious in the future. The description should clearly state this is an older book republished under a new name. I’m not only disappointed in the author and publisher, I’m disappointed in Amazon for not clearly stating this.
Personally, I like the new title compared with the older one; yet, both have a central place in the book! I love reading Colleen’s books because of the tension, climax, suspense and entertainment she threads in her tales. In this tale, we read about a meeting of two worlds, the Amish and English in the heart of one young woman named Hannah who views freedom to be in the English world after she tragically loses both parents. Hannah makes a rash decision that sets her life on a course that brings pain, heartache, and questions to her heart for years.When she fled her husband’s abuse and started a new life with a new name, she hoped to be free from him. Yet, in her heart of hearts, she knew he would always be looking for her and one day somehow, he would locate her and force her to return to him. When Hannah’s Aunt Nora sends a picture to her with a letter from her husband Reese, who she is separated from, its contents cause her heart to go in her throat and life once again is about to go into a whirlwind.I was very engrossed in this book for hours and highly recommend this to those who love to read a good story with such suspense they cannot put the book down! Coming later this year, Colleen Coble is releasing a book titled, Freedom’s Light, and I can’t wait to read it. But until I am able, I will read other books I have yet to read by this author and others who know how to keep a reader turning pages long into the late-night hours!Will you join me?
This is NOT a new novel by Colleen Coble. Unfortunately it was previously published entitled Anathema. I'm not sure why publisher's do this as this is the second time I've experienced it with a Colleen Coble novel.
This is a wonderful suspense novel that shows how bitterness can destroy lives and a few ones thinking. Forgiveness allows you freedom and the ability to love and live a happy life. Highly recommend this novel.
When a young woman is appreciated she associates it with love. She doesn't need to really know the person. Stars in her eyes magnify the guys worth. Hannah was in love, the other trials just convinced her that she had to have that love even when so many things were saying she should not. Life went on,with obstacles and brought her round circle. The suspense created holds the reader and Hannah finally comes to understand that God does not hold grudges and does answer prayers.
This author builds a story and characters so intriguing! It is a book hard to put down. The story grabs from the first and holds on until the end. The twist in characters and what happens in each of their lives keeps one guessing. Just when you think you have figured it out NO and that is exactly what keeps it interesting and so you can’t put the book down. I really enjoy this author! Colleen rocks!
This author weaves great plots...I am so thankful for her books...this one has touches on the life of the Amish which I found so interesting.I honestly did not know who the killer was...the pages turn themselves with so much drama!
