Action packed and full of suspense! This is one of the best arcs in One Piece! The art is amazing, and really draws you in. The humor, the drama, and the action are front and center here. A must read for all One Piece fans

If you like this, you will like this book. Had hoped for story to be based more on the Hulk. However, it did leave out that dreadful Red Hulk crap. Red Hulk is stupid, and the author took a stand, in not putting that douche bag in this fine book.

The One Piece story continues with a new arc, and the story is just as grand, humorous, and emotional as ever. This new arc brings with it many new characters and a serious story revolving around the subject of racism between humans and fishmen.The characters are still great, the world is expansive and beautiful, and the story is rich and detailed. At 62 volumes, One Piece is still as great as ever.

Fantastic graphic novel, Eiichiro Oda is a genius writer and I would recommend this series to EVERYONE! It is a fun story that you can really get in to and everyone that I have ever told about this series has loved it!

To those who have gotten to this point of One Piece, it can probably be agreed that there are few mangas/animes better than it. It's unfortunate that the English dub butchered it, since otherwise it would probably be a lot more popular.The Thriller Bark arc (volumes 46 - 50) happens to be my sister's favorite one, so I got it for her birthday. I got all of them not only before her birthday but early, so I was very relieved. The volume was in good shape, and I found no problems with the packaging.I wish Amazon would put up a summary of the book, they only have the series summary.

A counterpoint to the rather crushing reviews some others gave to this volume.One Piece is about adventure first and foremost, and a lot of people seem to have the notion that if there isn't any fighting going on, then it somehow becomes "boring".You can't have a payoff without the buildup, and you can't have a conflict without introducing and familiarizing the reader with the players and how they relate to one another.Volumes covering Jaya and Skypiea seem to have suffered some ire from the same public, despite the fact that they are top-notch adventures, but have a somewhat long buildup to the eventual conflict that plays out.This volume is the same way, and serves as a long buildup, during which the adventure part is happening. There will be plenty of fighting later, I promise.The reason I took one star off is due to the fact that the volume I received had some issue with the print, and some of the text and panels around it were printed lightly and unevenly. It's only a dozen pages or so that are affected, readable but slightly annoying.From what I hear this is a common problem with the first batch of this volume.

My favorite manga is still great!

"Poached" by Stuart Gibbs is a middle school kid-friendly mystery on steroids! The second in Gibbs' FunJungle series, Teddy Fitzroy continues to run amok while being accused of stealing Kazoo the koala.  The book rocks with slapstick comedy, unexpected twists, complex characters, and loads of suspects.  Gibbs seamlessly includes an abundance of interesting info on animals in the context of the fictional FunJungle, a state of the art animal theme park/zoo.  Why is this a significantly improved follow-up to the original, "Belly Up?"  First, the author now steers clear of profanity, which is totally unnecessary in a kids' book.  Second, we follow Teddy as he actually leaves FunJungle to attend school (OK, the other book took place during the summer break), where a bullying gang selects him as a prime target.  The school setting allows Gibbs to both strengthen his characters and introduce topics of interest to middle schoolers., including cliques and crushes.  Vance and his twin accomplices (cleverly named TimJim) coerce Teddy into pranking at FunJungle, although Teddy has always been quite mischievous without any pressure.  Another improvement in Poached is the author's deemphasis on the weight of characters.  The first book made fun of obesity, which is a no-no in my opinion.  Teddy's parents do a lot more than just listen to him in this second mystery; not only are their jobs are on the line if Teddy has poached Kazoo but they are acting more like responsible adults.  Finally, Gibbs has amped up his clever array of suspects, keeping us in suspense until the very end.I used the first book as a read-aloud with a lot of on-the-spot editing, but wouldn't have any qualms about this book in the hands of middle schoolers.  It's a 5-star read with a very satisfying conclusion. Â

While I really enjoyed reading about Teddy's second adventure, there were a couple of things that bugged me. The way Vance, the bully from school, seems to control everyone at school, including the principal really rubbed me the wrong way. I mean, where were all the adults when Vance and his friends were getting ready to stuff Teddy's head in the toilet of a filthy bathroom. Maybe it's because I work in a school and I know how hard the staff works to keep the school running well but it seems so stereotypical. However, who am I to say there aren't schools where that sort of thing happens, bullying is an ongoing problem in most places after all. Outside of the bullying though, I'm not a big fan of characters I like getting accused of things they didn't do, and Teddy gets accused of stealing the koala on loan from Australia. Now admittedly Teddy has done plenty of things that make him a suspect, but Marge the security head for the park is so inept its annoying. What I did like outside of the mystery itself was the way Teddy's parents supported him. So many middle grade novels have either nonexistent parents or neglectful, uncaring ones, it was nice to read about some pretty cool parents. A fun addition to the series, and as always its fun to learn more about some of the different animals.

I expected to really like this after reading Belly Up, which I loved. But it just felt too unbelievable for my taste. If someone who loved Belly Up read this, like me, they would probably feel disappointed.***SPOILERS AHEAD***After the culprit Vance is put into prison, the cell has a poop-thowing chimpanzee in it! Too juvenile for me: I'm 9!***SPOILERS END***Verdict: Disappointing. Silly. Not for fans of Belly Up.

This book was good it has a lot of detail but I didn't like the bully. I like how Teddy is kind of a detective in the story. The previous book was better. I hope you like my review.Jack

My 11 year old son normally hates reading. This series has held his attention. This are a bit difficult for him on some vocabulary but it just makes him have to look up science words. I will say these books have cussing that doesn't add to the story. It is a shame it's included in youth books

My daughter could not put the book down. She read it in a couple of hours. Well worth buying this book.

My 8-yr old loves Stuart Gibbs books; a tad over his reading level but increases his vocabulary tremendously; a little violence and sometimes I'm not happy with the language I feel is inappropriate for this age level--also it's completely unnecessary--but there isn't much of it; I breeze over it if I'm the one reading

This was an easy one to pickup as Koalas are one of my sons favorite animals but the story is just wonderful and it is written in a way that my reader who 'struggles' a bit can be just as successful as my older son who also loved this book. Big Game is next on our list and I can't wait to hear about it!

Like someone else said it is not "Oldshue's book", but what written today lives up to the more proper style of writing pre 1970. It is still a very useful book that I rely on and would recommend in addition to Oldshue.

This is not James Oldshue's "Fluid Mixing Technology." That book should be on every engineer's shelf. (It is necessarily broad but successfully escapes from other technical books published by McGraw-Hill: it is not a collection of magazine articles.) What the Handbook of Industrial Mixing offers is a collection of graduate level material forum discussions on the subject. If you need in-depth knowledge of different forms of mixing this would be a good place to start. If you are trying to solve a field problem directly, talk to the vendors --- this handbook won't help.For example, I used this reference to estimate pressure losses in static mixers handling highly viscous liquids. The estimates calculated were higher than later vendor information. I had some difficulty digging out the equations and reading all the caveats.If this review was helpful, please add your vote. These reviews serve the public and by supporting them you help others choose the books that promote a better use of technology.

In my opinion this book is the mixing handbook that others are measured against. Nice graphical layout, engineer friendly and it also covers both measurement and modeling.

Well, now that I have found out that I have PASSED the IDFX and IDPX I thought I'd write the review on this book. I thought it was great, perfect for the test. I read it cover to cover and took notes to go back and review/ study before the test. Some of the questions on the tests seemed to come right from the book, which is exactly what I'd hoped. I rented this book instead of buying it.. which I am very glad I did. While it is all good knowledge.. it is what it says it is... a study guide for the test.. so I don't really feel the need to keep it as a reference book to use at work. There are a lot of things they cover in this book that I would have never thought to study for and don't use in my job like determining the rentable area of a building and other topics... so I definitely recommend!

This is a great book for studying for the NCIDQ exam but VERY little information has changed from previous versions. I had an old version that I bought for $5 and thought I should get the updated one before my test. I saw very little difference. Save some money and buy and old version. I also think the book doesn't help a ton for the PRAC other than using it as a reference if you need to look up info. If you are studying for the PRAC get your hands on some practice tests. That is the only helpful way to study in my opinion. After you take a Prac practice test you will know exactly what you need to know.

Here is a reference from another review that covers this book also:I did end up buying the reference manual and the flashcards. I would definitely buy the reference manual again, but not sure the flashcards are necessary. If you study well this way, it is an ok format to drill info in, however most of them are not simple one-answer questions. The answers are lists of several points that you may understand, but will never memorize & be able to rattle off. So essentially, you just read them as a condensed (and selective) version of the book. It can be a good companion if you have lots of extra money to spend on this already incredibly expensive test.Also, I just took both multiple choice tests yesterday (IDPX & IDFX) and the amount of info I did NOT need to know what astounding. There were only a very small percentage of questions that actually referenced facts or written procedures. Most of them were crazy scenarios that you just have to use your judgment to know the "best" or "most-correct" answer. Very frustrating!! A few of the straight information questions were not anywhere in the Ballast study material. But as you know, the tests change every season and you will never know which few facts they will ask you - so you had better be familiar with all of them. Every question counts since their grading process is so crazy.To expand on this book specifically:even though it is quite expensive, it is a good thing to get since it pretty much condenses all of the information you need to know in one place. I did end up reviewing a separate code book, color theory book, ADA regulations & drafting/construction books, BUT the info in this reference manual is probably good enough to get a good handle on all of the areas you will need to know for the test. It is really good on the "theory & design concept" sections and also the Contract Administration, Bidding & Management sections. There are very specific AIA & ASID regulations/guides/sequences to follow that are not always common to everyday practice, so this book did a good job of driving a lot of the important information in. The rest of the chapters have good informational overall review on the detailed stuff (lighting, acoustics, codes, drafting, etc.) however I did find a few discrepancies and saw where they neglected to cover some more detailed scenarios that would have been too difficult to skim. Overall, I think it is enough info to pass the test (if all you needed was to know info - unfortunately its so much more than that!)The organization in the front is great. It separates the information you need to know by each section and each test and it gives you the weighted percentages that pertain to each test section. That can help you prioritize facts and study time. I did find that the organization of the Project and Business Management stuff was a little confusing at first. It is not chronological, but after you read it through a couple times and make your own notes, it makes sense.

OK Let's get this straight right out of the gate: I HATE that textbooks are so expensive. This one too.Now that's out of the way: so far this book is telling me everything I've needed to pass the NCIDQ. I've done the IDFX so far and am studying for the other two currently, and after seeing how the IDFX went I'm pretty confident that this will help with the other two. This book is designed for the NCIDQ. It does give tips on how to take the tests as well.There are typos, and sections that aren't explained very clearly. Some bits of information seem to contradict each other but that's most often because the descriptions have very subtle differences that take some dissecting. Even with that, this book is informative enough that I know I'll be referencing it for years after the tests have passed.

Currently studying for both IDFX and IDPX which I take in 2 weeks time. I also have the flash cards. As someone who has worked in the industry for 18 years, I have the opinion of a lot of this not being realistic to the 'real life' in the actual design profession. A lot of the content deals will design philosophy, psychology, theories, etc just like what I learned many years ago back in design school. So I'm having to keep an open mind and decide if the book is more true than actual experience and what to answer on the test. I do find it useful to brush up on rusty, weak areas. I found some of the illustrations could have an improvement. For example a door schedule or finish schedule to actually correlate with the plan, etc. as if it came from the same set of CD's (project) instead just samples from different CD's (projects). The book refers a lot to cigarette smoldering and fire potential, yet no one can smoke in public buildings anymore in most states, it seams like the testing standards regarding cigarettes are so outdated (unrealistic).

To have the Classics so close at hand we moderns must thank AMAZON and others. This Edition of the Aeneid takes us back to the time of John Dryden, the great English writer. He gives us a very polished translation of the Latin. Impossible to give us all the beauties and subtleties of the Latin yet it is a wonderful introduction to Virgil. An impelling story about the "Pius Aeneus"- a basic story to out European Culture. The founding of Rome!! The Introduction to this Edition is a real gem. Read it- again and again if necessary. It is an education in itself. My first reading of the AENEID was many years ago but I still feel its influence. It is time for the modern world to again learn the wisdom, the ideals, the morals handed down from the Masters. A final appeal: for heavens sake don't pass through life without having read this Classic. It would be a disaster, Monet and Price no excuse- the KINDLE price is a give-away. Happy reading. Ignotus.

I happen to love both the Iliad and the Odyssey. The Aeneid tries to be both but ultimately fails. If you have read the Iliad then you know Troy falls. But you never see what happens to get that damned Argive horse into Troy do you? The Aeneid shows you. Book Two of the Aeneid is probably the highlight of the book. And you also see the fate of Aeneas, son of Venus and destined to star in Virgil's national epic about the founding of Rome.Essentially Juno holds a grudge. Paris didn't choose her so she hates Troy. Then Zeus has the audacity to replace her daughter Hebe with Ganymede as cupbearer to the Gods. And Zeus is probably having a relationship with Ganymede right underneath Juno's nose. Juno is not thrilled and so she turns what should be a nice straight forward voyage from Asia Minor to central Italy into an epic involving foreign queens (poor Dido) and lots of war. Seriously there is a lot of war in the last six books. The war action is probably why I gave this three stars instead of four. By trying to recapture the majesty of Iliad, Virgil fails. The last half of the Aeneid is a serious bore.As an aside, I didn't realize that Laocoön and his fate featured in the Aeneid. Who are they? You'll find out but also google Vatican City Laocoön sculpture. Some seriously beautiful art.Should you read this? Yes, I suppose so. Along with the Iliad and the Odyssey, the Aeneid is one of the foundational texts of Western Civilization for good reason. These are stories that are told and retold over the centuries and appear in lots of art as well. Plus, it's relatively short too. But by trying to fit in the future into a story about the past, Virgil loses his way. And so we are left with this - If Juno/Hera is one of the three Goddesses who offers you a gift, always choose her. Or else.

I had read some years ago Professor Fagles' translations of the Iliad and the Odyssey and loved them both. Fortunately, before his recent death, Fagles also translated Virgil's Aeneid. I wasn't very familiar with the Aeneid, but this translation brings it alive. I don't know enough Latin to be an independent judge of the translation, but experts attest that this is a great translation into modern English. For those not familiar with the poem, the Aeneid is the flip side of the Iliad and the Odyssey. It's the story of Aeneas, a Trojan and minor figure in the Iliad, who escapes Troy after the Greeks overrun it and has a series of travels and adventures, ending up in Italy and founding Rome. The Greeks, such as Odysseus, are among the villains. Beautiful language and a stirring story. Most recommended.

Many other reviewers have pointed out that this edition of The Aeneid has major formatting issues on the Kindle. I really wanted to read the Robert Fagles translation, as I had enjoyed his versions of The Iliad and The Odyssey. I decided that I could probably deal with some spacing issues if it meant I could read the Fagles translation.I was pleasantly surprised once I purchased the eBook. There are NO formatting issues of any kind on my Kindle Paperwhite. I'm not sure if this was because of an update to the document itself, or just because of the specific Kindle I was using.Fagles, again, does a great job making the epic poetry readable. But The Aeneid ultimately gets four stars because it's a somewhat contrived, convoluted story, especially in comparison to Homer's epics. It's definitely not bad, though.The Aeneid is a sequel to Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, written around 700 years after them. Written by Virgil, a Roman poet, The Aeneid is the missing link in our pop-culture portrayal and understanding of the Trojan War. This is the volume that describes the Trojan Horse episode, the fall of Troy, and the Trojan invasion of Italy. The epic follows Trojan warrior Aeneas as he journeys from Troy and invades Italy.By linking Rome with Troy, Virgil gave the Roman people a sense of entitlement in conquest and revenge against Carthage and Greece. But since Rome and Troy are not linked together in historical reality, Virgil manufactures a bunch of cop-out reasons for why the Italians maintained their own culture even after being conquered by the Trojans. This entire epic reminded me of an unnecessary Hollywood sequel, made purely as a cash-in. That being said, there are many really interesting and entertaining moments in this epic, and I enjoyed it overall.

This is a thorough guide to the metroplex, at least u feel the authors have actually been to the region, which is not always the case in books of this kind. If you are planning a trip to dallas, then i believe this guide will give you a good overview of the city and environs..there is actually a great deal to see in the metroplex, expecially Dallas' Nasher Collection and NorthPark Mall..yes, this mall is worth a visit, this is dallas after all..and Fort Worth's Kimbel Museum, and Carter Museum, oh and the zoo..yes, fort worths zoo is superior to dallas'..all that money and dallas still has a mediocre zoo..anyway, consider picking up this guide if ur headed to the area..
