This calendar has a few nice pictures. However, I didn't expect the photographer to write sentences on each calendar page about his specific experience at the location. The price was good, but the graphics are not great on many images.

Great calendar especially if you like adventure. The small captions under each month makes it even more special.

Love this calendar. Beautiful photography and ample space for writing in appointments, birthdays, events etc. I had gotten the 2018 Call of the Wild calendar last year and I was so excited to get the new version this year. It’s great!

The calendar use quality paper and the pictures are beautiful, oddly even with a smart phone and watches that have the day and date, I still like the old fashioned calendar. Good character development and progression - unlike many LitRPG, main character is not unbelievably lucky, over-talented or just generally overpowered due to some special circumstance or drop. Manages to keep that story occurs in game environment in place, without excessivereliance on stats and tables.

I bought the first book of this series and it sat on my kindle for months before I got around to it. Boy did I do myself a disservice. This second book is also excellent. The characters are those you can care about and cannot wait to find out what is going to happen next. Nothing about the main character is way overdramatic the way these types of books seem to generally drift too. It is just good gaming and storytelling combined that leads you on to yearning for what is next!

If you've read the first, then this is the long awaited sequel and yes it's an good or better then the first. If you haven't read the first book, go by it and read it right now, I had a difficult time really connecting with the MC (seiki) because of how realistically he's written, and he is deep deep into depression and the events in the first book nearly finish him off mentally. This book picks up where the first leaves off, and Seiki's continues to grow and mature, going from a pitiful cripple who just wants it all to end, to being a hurting young man who just wants to belong again, to realizing he's not alone and the world isn't all just pain but there's friendship and good times if you just try to find them. Sounds sappy and not much like a litrpg or action/adventure, but with the questing, fights, instances, wargames, intrigue, and betrayals there's something for everyone.Bushido Online is one of the best written litrpg books I've ever read. Go buy it.

Keeps up the plot from the first book while still branching out and keeping things interesting with plot elements and the like. Hard to keep track with all the names of everyone just because I'm terrible with name in general, but halfway through I realized some people in the book had minor/major appearances in the previous book. I really like this series and I know it's hard to keep the flow going but I'm really looking forward for the next book in the series.

Addictively fun, and there is quite a bit of tricky intrigue going on here. The story also works in the main character's RL better than the first one. Highly recommended, the LitRPG parts aren't too distracting from the well written story compared to many books that read like rulebooks.

Wonderful, this book feels so alive, I cant wait for more.

No credibility! Horrid horrid grammar. For instance, “although many will say that gluten can be consumed, I highly agree. It is of great importance to avoid gluten...” (pg 29). Are you freaking kidding me? Edit for content at least!!! It became a comical read- a Where’s Waldo of the many errors!

Simple and straightforward. General information is decent, if you are looking for general information this is not a bad starting point. Most of the book seems to be general information. The food list is presented very directly and that's one of the pieces I was looking for. But primarily I was looking for a book that would have a low-histamine eating plan for a person who has no need to lose weight. If you are purchasing this book as a weight loss aid then the meal plans would likely work for you. But I purchased it for someone who needs to maintain and maybe even gain some weight. No calorie counts are provided, but I suspect they are very low. There are a few contradictions as well that are not clear: i.e. peanuts are high histamine, but natural peanut butter is beneficial; gluten is high histamine, but pretzels are listed as a snack food in the meal plan. It could do with an edit and perhaps a calorie check.

What I'd really like to do is ask the author a couple questions...This is new information to me, and I'm hoping it will help me with what has been about 30 years of various inflammation responses, the root cause having eluded diagnosis. I've had rosacea, endometriosis, chalazions in my eyelids, bladder infections, and various food/drink reactions: migraines, flushing, hives, welts, swollen ankles, etc. I've eaten healthy my whole life, but couldn't get completely healthy! Doctors like to prescribe medicine, but not find out what the reason is for the symptoms. I've spent my life trying to problem-solve, and just in the last 2 weeks discovered that 1-3% of the population is "histamine intolerant". Rare, but not so rare that a doctor shouldn't know about it, you'd think.I'm giving 4 stars because there are some contradictions in the book (peanuts = bad; peanut butter = good, which are also the photos on the front and back cover of the book, but with no explanation... Confusing!) and the unanswered questions I'm left with because there isn't enough explanation of some key points. For instance: which medicines cause which response?The book is short (77 pages), which is good and bad. I read it quickly, but then I'm left with questions. The editing is somewhat atrocious in parts, too. Like someone forgot to do a grammar/spell check, it's that bad. No explanation in the book who Anna Keating is, either. I had to go to "her" page on Amazon to see that she isn't a professional doctor, dietician, or PhD, but had her own medical problems that she solved with diet... How did she find out what to do? See? Way too basic, learned more about histamine intolerance doing internet research while waiting for it to arrive. I am not college educated and it also had a poor editor.

So this book sums up what histamine is and what foods are high histamine or trigger histamine. That is good.The problem is I need to know where these details are coming from. For instance, the book does not describe the author at all. What are her credentials? How did she get this information? There is no reference page either. So it makes me uneasy to trust that this is sound medical or nutritional advice.The editing could be better as well. Some of the sentences don't read correctly.The book is small, but a big part of the book is the daily meal plans. Since there is a lot of food on there that cause allergies for our family, I would have preferred more general information like at the beginning of the book, followed by some meal ideas.So, I liked the straight to the point information on how histamine affects the body and how to lower it. I would have liked to see some evidence to support this. I will keep the book on hand and compare with internet research to confirm the information is accurate.

Those with histamine intolerance can not have fish unless it is caught, killed and cooked with a few short hours. This meal plan had fish several times on the menu. The author states to use fresh caught fish. Not something very many people can get to and not exceed the time limits. Trust me I have tried.

This is the perfect read for anyone who is trying to make heads or tails about histamine intolerance. It explains in an easy way to understand the science behind histamine intolerance, plus foods that are high in histamine and should be eliminated as well as foods that are low in histamine. It includes supplement recommendation AND a meal plan. I wish I had found this earlier. It would have saved me a lot of time searching on the internet!

Niccolò di Bernardo dei Machiavelli (3 May 1469 21 June 1527) was an Italian historian, politician, diplomat, philosopher, humanist and writer based in Florence during the Renaissance. If I wanted to conquer a country and become its prince, the first thing I’d need to know is how to get my own personal military. I didn’t find that information in this book. It seems to have been written for men who already have their own personal militaries. Yet most of the advice is about conquest. If they have their own personal militaries, why wouldn’t they already be experts in conquest?Someone who is already a prince would need to know about what to do after the conquest. He needs to know how to deal with his subjects and how to deal with other rulers without going to war. There should have been an entire chapter on diplomacy and international trade. The alternative to these things is destroying your own principality with perpetual war. Along these lines, after Machiavelli wrote THE PRINCE and before he published it, he wrote a small work entitled “The Life of Castruccio Castracani of Lucca” that illustrated the importance of caution and diplomacy instead of endless conquests. The key was that princes should keep the limitations of their successors in mind when planning military campaigns. After all, princes die young sometimes.Nothing clear is presented about how a prince should deal with his subjects. A prince might need to kill them, but should leave their property and women alone. He should disarm them so they can’t overthrow him. But what if the principality is being invaded and he needs armed subjects to help him fight the invaders? Liberality is the quickest way to be despised by the subjects, but they should be given festivals and spectacles. It’s confusing and I may have missed it, but he provides no historical examples of princes that prevented unrest and those who failed to do so.What’s also confusing is what everyone focuses on when they talk about this book. I'm referring to the morality of the prince. Must he have a moral duty, breaking conventional rules only when they interfere with this duty? Or is it permissible for him to be a beast who only cares about his own pleasure and glory? I’m not sure what this book really says about that.However, THE PRINCE is a valuable early work of political science. The method is pretty good. Ideas are developed from axioms of human nature, then backed up with historical examples. It’s worth reading.2.8 stars

I often heard of this book but never read it and after reading it I am sorry I didn't pick it up sooner. Some people think that the book is cruel and calculating, but I think it is very insightful of how governments take over countries and keep their citizens in line. Some times it means killing the old administration (literally) and other times it means employing citizens in new territories that you are trying to take over. The writing wasn't convoluted at all. It was very clear and well written. This is definitely a book you can read over and over again.

A great thesis worth multiple readings. This collection of essays and letters are one man's fascinating take on politics and war. The only thing which takes away from the overall work are the appendices which try to spoon-feed conclusions as opposed to providing context for the greater work.To be able to read and understand this book correctly, you must be prepared to spend some time understanding the politics and conflicts of the time. That being said, it's the only way to do it and be able to grasp more than surface conclusions. Being able to read and understand the work changed my understanding of not just politics, but also my interactions with different groups both socially and in my work life.

The idea of "reviewing" this is more than a little silly -- it's arguably the most influential non-religious work of all time -- but I thought a few comments & historical notes might still be worthwhile."The Prince" was essentially the first work of political realism in Western thought -- the first work of Western political philosophy that concerned itself not with the ideal government (as Plato had done in his _Republic_) but with the practical realities of getting and holding power. To describe the impact and influence of that willingness, that first notion that conventional morality might not be the best guide to success, would be as impossible a task as trying to summarize the influence of Galileo. Napoleon is rumored to have written extensive annotations to this book; Stalin allegedly kept a copy on his nightstand. Half of Shakespeare's villains (Iago, Richard III, etc.) derive their character in whole or part from this text.Most of this book is extraordinarily controversial, even today, yet still fundamentally difficult to argue against; there's a reason the Catholic Church kept it on the _Index Librorum Prohibitorum_ for centuries. The organization of this book is superb. It is very easy to cross reference disease patterns as well as locate info based on pinyin, english/latin, or characters. The authors did a fabulous job of explaining rationale for scripts.

The charts and figures in the ebook are unviewable. For instance, look at the first table in Chapter 34 through iPhone kindle edition. Can't read the print. When you zoom in, it becomes a blur. Almost all the tables in this book are like that. Also the Pinyin-English appendix reference does not hyper-link to any herb reference like most other kindle reference books. This one is just black and white text. It looks like someone just scanned this book in real fast and sold it as a kindle book. Low usability, low readability. The text formatting in the rest of the book is pretty poor. Every kindle book I've bought so far has better quality than this, even a $3.19 kindle book. I gave it 2 stars because the book looks like it has good material, if one can read it. :)

I was recommended this book by a friend who started her own business canning pickled foods. She told me it was her go-to resource for her recipes and suggested I get it if I wanted to get started with canning, and I can definitely see why. It is completely jam-packed (pun intended!) with all sorts of recipes for pickled-foods, jams, sauces, juices, meats and other neat can-able things to try.Another thing I really liked about this book is that it was free when I ordered it for my amazon kindle! lol I can't not like that! I've always wanted to try my hand at pickling at my own eggs at home, and I guess no longer have any more good excuses!I Definitely would recommend this e-book for anyone interested in canning or in need of inspiration for new recipes.

I'm just beginning my canning journey after harvesting too many early spring vegetables from our garden and feeling overwhelmed about the summer harvest. This book was clear and concise with tons of helpful hints and nice recipies. Between this book and google, I am set. Made 14 jars of water bath pickles and purchased my first pressure canner, following advice from this book. I really feel it is a great tool for the wannabe canning genius!

Although I have taken many writing classes over the last few years -- both as an undergrad and on-line with published writers -- I cannot fully express with words the appreciation and awe I have, not only for "The Story of a New Name" but for all four of the Neapolitan novels. The only other contemporary book I have ever read that even approaches Ferrante's epic novels is "A Suitable Boy" by Vikram Seth.The stories are at once of a people, a place, and a time, yet they reveal the complexities of the characters as they change through the trajectory of their lives in Naples -- which is in the midst of a cultural change itself. This, is of course, how our lives will appear if, say, in advanced age we sit down with pen and paper or computer, to tell our grandchildren just how we were in our lifetime.I have lived through the 40's, 50's, 60's and am still moving on. Imagine how surprised my grandchildren (or their children) will be when they who have only known me as kind, loving "Nana" read my journals! Wish I could be there and wish I could write as well as Ms Ferrante.

Masterful handling of point of view, Ferrante uses Lina's journals to allow Elena to give both her p.o.v. and Lina's. I love the entangled relationship of these two friends - the co-dependent, twisted, competitive side note of it. It reminds of the kind of relationship of sisters or childhood friends. Elena never quite trusts her own achievements, doubts her brilliance, believes Lina is the genesis of all her thoughts. Lina is so self destructive that the reader thinks she is mentally unstable. The place where this all plays out - Naples - could be any hood where people are poor and resources are limited, where there is a society of rich and poor, class and underclass. Lina could have been anything she wanted but she chooses money to boost her sense of self rather than persue her art, creativity, her intellect. It's a tragedy really. The text is feminist, social and political without preaching. Issues of then - the 60s, 70s, abuse of women, social and economic disadvantages, political thought - are still issues to be challenged today.

I struggle not giving this book 5-stars. I say that because I'm emotionally into this story. I was up all night reading and didn't close my eyes until the sun was good and up. Someone else reviewed that three-quarters into the story she was done. So was I but it had more to do with losing interest in Lina/Lila. She felt to be the embodiment of the mean, stagnate and abusive neighborhood they grew up in. She had betrayed Lenu in the worst way and suddenly my interest in reading this series had changed. I was done with Lina and am now reading to see if Lenu finds a better version of herself to believe in and become. And so, to me, Lina is an unapologetic and abusive friend. Lenu is extremely co-dependent. Okay, those are the elements of drama a story needs, HOWEVER, I can't bring myself to care about Lina and her ex-husband, boyfriends, brother and his attachments. I'm done with the old neighborhood, and I'm sure that was the deliberate effect the author wanted to inspire. Only in my extreme nature, I find myself skipping through all the parts that involved Lina after the betrayal. I think that's why a lot of readers are finding it difficult to continue. It's like after that, all the parts about Lina are tedious. It's as if I'm reading "blah, blah, blah, blah, blah..." And as a writer myself, I'm not sure how to feel about that. I'm disappointed in myself while praising​ the brilliance of the author for making me feel that way. However, I will finish this series and hopefully, Lina will arc. But I am GREATLY invested in Lenu's arc. I'm hoping she'll fall in love with herself and gain a voice and some self-esteem, it seems the story is going in that direction.

This book picks up where the last left off, drawing you right back into the conflicts with which the first ended. As the book goes, on, more conflicts come piling on, and we see that for Lila and Lenu their time as young adults is fraught with difficulties.Their friendship, as before, continues tumultuous.I think I am now done with the series. The betrayal, jealousy, romance here, all take on the quality of a soap opera as the events come thick and fast and everyone becomes more entangled. The unevenness of the friendship, and the divergence of their lives began to feel predictable to me, and the increasingly self-referential nature of the narrative felt worn. Mostly though, what I primarily took away from this book and the last was a feeling of unpleasantness, not alleviated by any especially eloquent phrases or gripping passages.

The deep down ugly destructiveness of patriarchy, that wrecker of lives and dreams. The awful invidiousness of comparing oneself to others. The selfish greed that keeps the majority in poverty and the minority in lavish wealth. The raw exposure of these social ills are for what I praise the author. Not the melodramatic teenage love triangle and the steamy sexual scenes. Those I found overwrought. Yet the social issues and class struggles are serious and ongoing in every culture and the author brings them to light in the Italian culture of the last century making the novel a worthy read, although, for me, not as captivating as the first book in this series, My Brilliant Friend.

Its premise is such a candidate should be able to write an effective resume in a few hours by following its advice.Asher identifies four responsibilities of a resume:* get the interview* structure the interview* refresh the interviewer's memory* justify the hiring decision to others.Asher recommends what he calls the profile style, a chronological resume that begins with a profile rather than an objective. The first 10 lines are the most important; they must hook the reader and answer the question, "What can this candidate do for me?" Functional resumes are difficult to write and many employers don't want them because they hide weaknesses.Write the resume from the employer's point of view. Start by envisioning the ideal candidate. Then consider how your background exemplifies the ideal. Throw out the obvious; put the information in order of interest to the reader. Describe each job by scope and accomplishments. Use insider language and jargon if it would be readily understood inside the target industry.Use action verbs to sound exciting. He recommends using superlatives ("top producer", "lowest error rate") and making claims specific and quantifiable ("supervised 3 architects and 14 engineers" rather than "supervised staff"). Create the telegraphic style typical of resumes by writing a letter to your sister, then eliminate unnecessary words.Design and layout should be professional and simple. Control the reader's eye with judicious use of emphasis: bold, italic, underline, font size, capitalization. Don't use too many different types of emphasis on the same page. The page should look attractive and balanced when held at arm's length. Use a common font. Resumes need not follow any particular style guide, but internal consistency is very important.Asher includes tips throughout the book, such as:* Don't use initials to hide your gender; an employer may not call if they don't know the correct title to use. If your name is androgynous, add a title in parentheses (Mr., Ms).* Technical resumes now tend to focus on specialization rather than a laundry list of systems, applications, and platforms.* Use a local address; PO Box for privacy.* If cell phone number is on resume, don't answer it if you're at a party.Asher has little interest in rules, and focuses on addressing the document's purpose and using common sense. He proposes four rules, only one of which is a really a rule: Do not tell a lie. However, he dilutes it by suggesting a risky tactic to fool a computer filter for language fluency.A chapter on cover letters calls them routing slips. They should be very brief, written to a person by name, and should identify a prior contact or personal referral.The book includes example resumes, including some humorous ones (e.g., barn cat transitioning to house cat), a chapter on handling common problems, styles specific to occupations, geographic differences, and how to get interviews.Paragraph-by-paragraph, the text is conversational and very well-written. It would benefit from better organization. Some of it is written like a step-by-step guide, but there are some detours.

Well-written, concise and encouraging. Check out his Youtube videos for additional guidance. Resume wasn't quite done overnight, but was finished quickly.

After getting nowhere with potential employers using my, what I thought was a good, resume, I bought this book. I completely re-wrote my resume as per its instructions, and I immediately began connecting with both recruiters and companies. It's a super great book!

Literal title...The structures, assessments, and the examples are all insightful and useful giving me a direction in a matter of time while I haven't even finished reading the book. Cumulative styles and forms adhering and adjusting to today's job market.
